UPDATE: The print sale raised over $7,500 for the 24.02 Fund. Thank you to everyone who bought a print!
Satellite communicators and medical kits (10 of each) have already been delivered to Ukraine and provided to Ukrainian journalists, with more on the way. Many thanks to Matthew Connors for his help transporting these from the U.S.
Mariupol is one of my favorite Ukrainian cities. I’ve spent a lot of time there since 2014, and made a lot of pictures. It has now been completely destroyed by the recent Russian invasion. Thousands of people have been killed, the entire infrastructure destroyed, a whole city—home to half a million people—traumatized and ruined.
I’m holding a one week flash print sale from March 25-31 until April 3, drawn from this set of 20 of my photographs from Mariupol taken between 2014 and 2022. 50% of the proceeds will go to the 24.02 Fund supporting Ukrainian journalists with safety equipment. The other 50% are to help my own relocation efforts as my Ukrainian wife and I look for a new (but temporary) home before we welcome our first child in early June.
